Sending Cheer With A Religious Christmas Card

Chucky Anderson

Many people are aware of the religious significance of Christmas and the constant debate between the religious aspects of the holiday and the corporate aspects. This assists humanity in edging closer and closer to the abyss of despair as we replace the true meanings of holidays with corporate greed and attempt to cover up history with religious significance; it is truly a cycle that can make for some controversial feelings around Christmas. There is a way, however, to take the focus away from such discussions and place it around the meaning of the season and that way is with a religious Christmas card.

As hard as it may be to believe, at first, the notion of giving a religious Christmas card is a great way to appeal to peoples’ primal beliefs and help integrate an inclusive aspect to all of the recipients of your thoughtful gift. Using a card with religious significance first, however, requires you to become acquainted with your intended receiver’s religious persuasion. In today’s politically correct landscape, this may be more difficult than first assumed.

Believe In Christmas

For Jewish people, the celebration that takes place around Christmas is Chanukah. This celebration involves the Jewish festival of rededication which is also known as the festival of lights. Celebrating this festival is important to Jewish people, but unfortunately it is probably best known for its proximity to Christmas and not actually the purpose of the holiday. Finding a religious card to capture this significance, hence, would probably be even more complicated.

The internet, however, offers a significant array of options for the Jewish festival of lights card. There are several web sites that offer tasteful versions of holiday cards that will help your Jewish friends and family celebrate the holiday while experiencing the blissful sensations that inevitably come from opening an envelop to a card containing a snappy verse and some prose. One of the best Jewish Chanukah cards involves a dog and a birthday cake; nobody is quite sure why, however.

Muslims do not celebrate Christmas, either, and tend to feel incredibly pressured to assimilate to the world view that involves the celebration for this season. For the most part, those practicing the religious doctrine of Islam have been left to ignore and try to shut out the vibrations of thousands of little Christmas carollers or the notion of Christmas tunes echoing in the mall’s halls. Finding a Christmas card suitable for a Muslim, therefore, would be impossible.

We need to embrace all faiths around Christmas and remember to be sensitive to other faiths with our practicing of one of our very own religious beliefs: the giving of cards.
